I have to share something funny with you.  This morning I was making my coffee and Bob was standing beside me.  I opened the fridge and pulled out a block of organic, unsalted butter and took some of it and placed it inside my coffee cup.  He says to me…”What are you doing with that?” and I said “I’m putting it in my coffee” not realizing that he has never seen me do this,  I will say this…The look on his face…PRICELESS!  I proceeded to tell him that I add butter a few times a week and I’ve been doing it for months and then shared with him why.

I stumbled across the recipe a few months ago after seeing a post about it on Instagram and have been enjoying it ever since.  It’s called Bullet Proof Coffee.  Have you heard of it?

In a nutshell, this yummy goodness is a way of getting healthy fats in PLUS you still get to enjoy your morning coffee.  Healthy fats like coconut oil and organic butter, all in moderation of course,  have been shown to help with mental clarity, keeping hunger at bay and acts as a jump start to get your fat burning.  SOLD!  In addition, it’s frothy top makes you feel as if you’ve just made a trip to your favorite coffee shop.

So, if you want to give this a try, here is the recipe.

1. Take your coffee made with filtered hot water and put it in a blender.

2. Add 1 teaspoon of butter and 1-2 spoon of coconut oil.  You may add unsweetened almond milk and stevia for additional flavor.

3. Blend for a 30-40 seconds, pour into your favorite mug and enjoy.
